I’m Elle Turner, a writer and stationery-loving bookworm who believes that creativity is happiness and writing is fresh air for the soul.
I’m on a mission to help us bring more fun, creativity and beauty into our lives through journaling.
Does this sound familiar to you?
Day to day we’re pulled in so many directions by the conflicting priorities of work and all our other responsibilities.
We set ourselves high standards and feel a pressure to fix everything by yesterday, fuelled by the beeping and flashing demands of our phones.
We’re busy, lacking the time and energy to do what’s best for us, like eat good food around the table with our family, exercise regularly and sleep the recommended number of hours.
And that’s just us, individually. What about on a global scale?
It feels like there’s bad news, baffling news or frightening news at every turn and it’s so difficult to know what, if anything, we can do to help.
But, at the same time, we know the world today is amazing. We have opportunities, connections, new possibilities at our fingertips.
We know we are lucky to have the life we find so challenging and we feel guilty for even finding it challenging at all.
Have you ever felt like that? I have.
I know we’re all different (thank goodness). We have different personalities and different experiences that inform the way we act and react, but I believe we have at the very least one thing in common – we want to live our best lives and be happy, not only for ourselves, but to be the best we can be for those around us too.
I believe journaling can play an important role in that. Let me explain.
In 2016 I left my day job of nearly 20 years (eep!) to start my own business, something I’d really wanted to do for most of my life. I’m not going to pretend for a second that it’s been easy (lots of tears), nor that I’ve got it all figured out (nope), but it’s definitely up there as one of the better decisions I’ve made.
You can read my story here, but the short version is that over the years I’ve found so much clarity, inspiration, catharsis and support in writing, both journaling and fiction.
For example, fiction led me down the writing path and gave me the courage to put my words out into the world. Journaling helped me find clarity and act to change my career.
Whenever I want to DO something different, THINK something through or IMAGINE another world, putting pen to paper is always my first step.
It's made my life so much better. I’d love it to do the same for you.
You can develop your own journaling practice, express your creativity and inject more fun into your life.
If that sounds good to you, click 'sign up' above to join the email community.
We'd LOVE to have you there.
p.s If you feel you’ve not got time to even think about developing a writing and journaling practice however much you’d like to, I’ve got your back there too! When you sign up, to welcome you I’ll send you a free PDF to help you carve out time in your day or week for you. Why not give it a go? And, even better, you’ll be added to Elle Turner Creative’s mailing list so that you receive updates, inspiration, some exclusive content and occasional offers. You can, of course, unsubscribe from updates at any time if you find the emails are not for you. (There’s a link to ETC’s privacy notice at the bottom of the page that lets you know how your personal info is used).
p.p.s would you like to meet my family? (With some flowers and notebooks thrown in for good measure, of course).
My wee guys (although not so wee anymore...), Hobs, Mum, Dad and, last but not least, Lexie & Lottie (they're the ones with the paws).
