The Pros and Cons of Planning

Hey there,

It’ll likely come as no surprise to you that I am a planner! I find enormous benefit in writing out what I intend or need to get done within a particular timeframe, both practically and for enjoyment. I would describe planning as useful and a hobby, and I’m always finding out new and different techniques that make it even more fun.

Although, of course, the idea of planning is not a new one, it has grown in popularity as a hobby and taken on new forms over the past few years.  So much so, there’s even a “planner community” within which people share tips, techniques and pictures of their planning activities. Moving towards self-care and three tips for building good habits

Hey there,

Hope you are well today.

When I left my day job a year and a half ago to work on Emerald and Lime full-time, I read a lot about becoming a business owner, about working for yourself and, more particularly, about working from home. All these “non-business” aspects of running a business were stressed to be as important as the business related aspects such as marketing, networking and social media.

I’ll be honest and say that when I was reading this I thought, ‘Well, that’s all a bit obvious, really,’ and continued on my merry way, sure that I’d take care of myself just fine because it’d be easy to do.

It was only after a few months of preparing to launch the business that I realised I had fallen into every single trap.

It’s a versatile practice, though. What works for you now may need to change in the future and that’s OK. Your journaling can evolve as you do.

Left-brain versus Right-brain thinking

Hey there,

Have you heard the theories about whether individuals are predominantly left-brained or right-brained people in terms of the way they think? I decided to look into this idea recently because I'd started to think that I was neither one nor the other and wondered if this was unusual.
