Hope your day is going well so far.
There’s no denying it, it’s one of the busiest times of the year. As well as everything we normally have to do on a day to day basis, whether it’s work, caring for children and other relatives, household requirements (or often all of these things), on top of that there’s “the Christmas thing” to do.
We know it’s a lovely time of the year too, though. Twinkling lights, hot chocolate, uplifting music and the focus on friends, family and togetherness. Cosy evenings, excited children, sparkling decorations and sweet-smelling candles. Deep down we know it will all come good by the day but, for me, it’s usually round about this time I start to lose motivation and feel a bit bogged down.
The house looks like a tip with piles of cards to post and wrapped presents to deliver. Everything’s at the “not quite there” stage. School and work haven’t started to wind down, the house hasn’t become self-cleaning (what a shock) and the To Do list is still pretty gargantuan. I don’t really want to do the day-to-day stuff, I want to spend time seeing friends, looking at the lights and drinking the hot chocolate. How about you?
If this sounds familiar, I thought this would be a good time to remind us all that WE CAN DO IT. I mean, we do it every year, right? Take it one day at a time, (use your free Emerald and Lime – Christmas planning PDF ) and focus on the end result.
If you’re familiar with Emerald and Lime, you’ll know why I’ve said in the post title that “You are the sea”. If you think about it, sometimes the sea is calm, sometimes not so much, but either way it is powerful and has hidden depths. Same goes for you, you are just like the sea. If at any time you need to be reminded of that, pop over here to see the full message.
See you soon,
